WANT TO AUDITION?
Our 2025 auditions will be held on:
Sunday August 31st at 11:30am in McComas Hall Gym Studio A.
Doors will open at 11am!
Any registered Virginia Tech student can audition for DCVT. Check out our Instagram and Facebook pages for updates on audition information!
What to expect:
OPEN CLASSES:
A few weeks before auditions, Dance Company will host two open classes(one for Jazz and the other for Contemporary) for auditionees to network with company dancers and get a feel for the company as a whole. Attending the open classes does NOT impact your ability to audition, nor will it make you a stronger or weaker candidate for the audition process. These classes are solely for the students to get to know the company and learn more about who they are.
AUDITION DAY:

Auditions are set to be a full day; however, call-backs will be held throughout. Dancers will be begin by learning and performing Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary combinations. Afterward, they will answer a few brief questions from our executive board, as well as being asked to showcase a skill of their choice. The final list of selected dancers will be announced via email the following day.

DO YOU NEED TO HAVE CERTAIN SKILLS? ​
No! For auditions, you will be asked to show a skill of your choice!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AUDITIONS?
We recommend fitted athletic wear or what you feel most comfortable in!

SHOULD I BRING SHOES TO DANCE IN?
Typically, we dance barefoot, but you are welcome to bring turners!

WHERE DO YOU PRACTICE?
During the year, we practice at a local studio, Dance Tech. However, auditions are held at McComas Hall Gym(Virginia Tech's on-campus gym).
